The Drawbridge Grant is an equity-free gift to Nigerian small businesses, awarded in cohorts. Applying is free, winning is at our discretion, the money comes with no repayment and no equity — and the only ongoing condition is a free account on our small-business platform. The full conditions are below, in plain language.

The Drawbridge Grant is run by Promoat Capital Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Nigeria. By applying, you agree to these terms and to whatever cohort-specific details (award amounts, dates, timelines) are published on the grant page at the time you apply. Questions: capital@promoat.co.

• You run a revenue-generating business registered with the CAC and operating in Nigeria.
• You’re at least 18 and authorised to represent the business.
• A business bank account is preferred; an award is paid only into a bank account in the business’s or the applicant’s name.
• One application per business per cohort. Applying to one cohort doesn’t stop you applying to a later one.
• Our team members and their immediate families can’t win.

Applying is free. You never need to pay anything, to anyone, to apply, be shortlisted, or win — if someone asks you for money in our name, it’s a scam, and we’d like to hear about it.

• Each cohort follows the process described on the grant page — application review, then interviews.
• Winners are selected at our sole discretion. Our decisions are final, and we aren’t able to give individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.
• Submitting an application doesn’t entitle you to a response, an interview, or an award.

Everything in your application must be true and complete to the best of your knowledge. We may verify any of it — for example, checking your CAC registration, confirming your identity, or asking for supporting documents — before shortlisting, interviewing, or paying an award. False or misleading information is grounds for disqualification at any stage, including withdrawing an award already announced or paid.

• Award amounts and how many are given per cohort are stated on the grant page for that cohort.
• The grant is a gift — not a loan, not an investment. We take no equity and require no repayment.
• Awards are paid in naira, by bank transfer, into an account in the business’s or applicant’s name. We don’t pay cash or substitute prizes.
• Any tax owed on an award is the awardee’s responsibility.

• Create a free account on our small-business platform — that’s the whole ongoing condition. No reporting obligations, and no strings on how you use the money for your business.
• We may announce winners — business name, owner’s first name, and a short description — on our website and channels. If that’s a problem for you, tell us before accepting the award and we’ll work something out.

If something outside our control forces a change — including changing cohort dates or, in an extreme case, cancelling or pausing a cohort — we may do so, and we’ll say so on the grant page. We won’t withdraw an award already paid because of a cohort change.

Applications are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. All applicants get a free account on our small-business platform, created from their application details, where they can track their application’s progress; the platform has its own privacy policy, shown at sign-up.

By applying, you agree that we can email you about your application and the grant, and send occasional updates about our programs and products. You can opt out of the updates any time by emailing us.

This is a discretionary grant programme — not a lottery, raffle, or game of chance, not an offer of securities, and not investment, legal, or tax advice. It creates no employment, agency, or partnership relationship. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability in connection with the grant is limited to paying announced awards to verified winners.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Lagos State. We’d rather resolve a problem by talking — email us first.

We may update these terms between cohorts. The version published when you apply is the one that applies to your application. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
