The short version
By using promoatcapital.com or submitting anything to us, you agree to these terms. Be truthful in what you submit, don’t misuse the site, and understand that nothing here is investment advice or a promise of funding. The details are below, in plain language.
Who you're agreeing with
These terms are an agreement between you and Promoat Capital Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Nigeria and the operator of promoatcapital.com and The Drawbridge Grant. If you don’t agree with these terms, don’t use the site or submit anything through it. You can reach us at capital@promoat.co.
Not an offer, not advice
Nothing on this website is an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security, and nothing on it is investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. The website describes what we do; any actual investment or grant happens under its own separate written agreement, and only that agreement counts.
Your submissions
When you submit a form on this site, you agree that:
- It’s accurate. The information is true and complete to the best of your knowledge, and the business is yours to tell us about. Submitting false information — including a CAC number that isn’t yours — is grounds for disqualification from anything we run.
- We may review and verify it. Our team reads submissions and may verify details, for example by checking your CAC registration or contacting you.
- It isn’t confidential. We treat submissions with care and handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, but submitting a form does not create a confidentiality agreement or any other obligation on us. Don’t send us trade secrets you can’t afford to share.
- You keep your rights. What you submit stays yours. You give us permission to use it for evaluating your business, running our programs, and contacting you.
- We can email you. When you give us your email address, we may use it to respond to you, keep you posted on anything you applied for, and send occasional updates about what we’re building and offering. You can opt out of the updates any time by emailing us.
- No promise of anything. Submitting a form — founder, partner, or grant — doesn’t entitle you to a response, an investment, or an award.
The Drawbridge Grant
The grant has its own full Terms & Conditions — those govern every cohort, alongside whatever is stated on the grant page for the cohort you apply to. The highlights:
- Applicants must run a revenue-generating business registered with the CAC and operating in Nigeria. A business bank account is preferred, and winners receive payment into a bank account in the business’s or applicant’s name.
- Winners are selected at our sole discretion through the process described on the grant page (application review and interviews). Our decisions are final, and we don’t provide individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.
- Grants are gifts, not loans or investments — we take no equity and require no repayment. Awardees are required to create a free account on our small-business platform.
- We may verify any information before paying an award, and we may withdraw an award obtained through false information.
- One application per business per cohort. Our team and their immediate families can’t win.
- If something outside our control forces a change — including changing dates or, in an extreme case, cancelling a cohort — we may do so, and we’ll say so on the grant page.
Using the site
Please don’t:
- Use the site for anything unlawful.
- Try to break, overload, probe, or bypass the site’s security — including the protections on our forms.
- Scrape or harvest data from the site, or submit forms with automated tools.
- Impersonate anyone or submit on behalf of a business that isn’t yours to represent.
Our content
The content of this website — text, design, graphics, and logos — belongs to us or our licensors. You’re welcome to read, link to, and share it; don’t republish it as your own or use our name and branding to imply a relationship that doesn’t exist.
Third-party services
The site links to and relies on some third-party services (for example, Google reCAPTCHA on our forms). Those services have their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them.
No warranties
The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is complete or current. Anything you do in reliance on the site’s content is at your own judgment.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site — including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability for claims connected to the site is limited to the greater of what you paid us to use it (the site is free) or the minimum the applicable law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded, such as for fraud.
If you cause us a problem
If your breach of these terms — for example, submitting false information or misusing the site — causes claims or costs for us, you agree to cover the losses that result.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Lagos State. We’d rather resolve a problem by talking — email us first.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site and our programs evolve. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
